I am currently on a quest to find my favorite dinner rolls recipe.
These are not them (those?).
These are, however, my favorite "in-a-pinch-forgot-to-make-rolls-and-dinner-is-in-an-hour" rolls.
Which is pretty much all the time (that I forget to start the rolls).
I'm sending you here to find the recipe:
These rolls are pretty darn good. My family likes them, and they are easy to throw together.
My favorite shape for rolls right now is the Rosette (pictured above).
You can find out how to make them here:
And while you are at it, go ahead and check out this roll recipe, which is my current favorite:
I have a few other recipes to try, and I will also be revisting the famed Lion House Rolls recipe. When I made them, they were kinda "blah", so I do need to give them another go around!
Since I seem to be in a linky mood tonight
(Not to be confused with loopy)
Here is a link to some other fun ways to shape rolls.
Do you have a favorite roll recipe you want to share?
I am on an eternal search for a good roll recipe.
ReplyDeleteI am going to try Kimmies whole grain rolls. They look good. Now if I can just make them.
I'm off to check out your sites.
Oh great! It's an eternal search? Wish you would have told me that sooner! :)
ReplyDeleteI have Kimmie's rolls on my list to try too!
Those rosettes are so perfectly pretty!! I wish you lived close so you could give me a tutorial. I am not good with yeast, but I love rolls. I'll give these a try soon though.
ReplyDeleteI make the Lion House Rolls almost all the time! My family loves them, but I'm up for some other recipes. I'll have to try out yours and the rosette shapes are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI did the roll quest several years ago while we were still living in Spanish Fork. However, it was not until we came to Centerville that I finally found my recipe. I have included a link to my recipe blog (which has not been updated since Thanksgiving) where I posted the recipe (second in the batch under the cranberry relish) but unfortunately no photos. Maybe soon. Good luck with your quest.
ReplyDeleteHere is my roll recipe:

I make them every Sunday, even if I am making a french meal with fresh baguettes. My children have informed me that rolls on Sunday are a tradition that cannot be ignored no matter what other bread products are on the table.
Wow! Those are gorgeous. I haven't made rolls in forever, but I do enjoy baking loaves of bread.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Valerie!
ReplyDeleteYou are making me hungry for rolls...and it's not even breakfast time yet :)
I love the Lion House roll recipe, and I love to make cheddar-onion rolls (I posted that recipe a while ago). One of my standbys is a foccacia recipe that goes from mixing bowl to oven in no time at all.
It's beginning to get nippy and we will soon be having soup and rolls for dinner :) I will have to test out all of the yummy recipes.
Hope you have a great day today!
There is nothing like fresh rolls a bread right out of the oven!!
ReplyDeleteI have a New Giveaway from the French Basketeer and I think you will love it!

The usual fare for Sunday dinner for my lucky husband is tepid water and a dry crust of bread. But your rolls look divine. I might have to give them a go. If it won't be too shocking to my husband . . .
ReplyDeleteI'm SO glad your shared the recipe -- and the delightful shape!!
