Give a Man a Fish...

"Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today.  Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime."

Or, you can be like our family.  We are strictly a "catch and release" gig.
But, there has been a lot of fishing going on around here!

Everyone is getting in on the action.  Including Emily!  The fish at the top of the page was one she caught.
Second largest of the season, so far.
The largest fish of the season was reeled in by this guy: (Shane)
No picture because:
1. I wasn't there and
B. It snapped the line and got away before Rick could grab it! It was close to 2 feet long!

Shane LOVES to fish.  He is the only one willing to get up in the wee hours of the morning to go fishing with his dad.  He told us the other day he has caught a "decade of fish".  That's 10 fish, if you weren't certain.

Curtis also likes to fish...but does not like to have his picture taken.

Are you kidding me?  He still has service?  So much for getting away from work!!!
(He was not happy about it either!)

We've found a great fishing spot, that we love.  Been having a good bit of success on pink power bait!
Shane likes to get his line in the water & then passes the time playing "Prince of Persia" on the rocks.

Beautiful sunset over the lake.  This particular day, we fished until there was no daylight left.
"All things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it..."

  5. It is always so nice when you have something you really enjoy doing as a family!
We have never been fishers but my daughter married this guy who loves fishing so we are all learning. I think it is kind of peaceful.
Your pictures are great and the last one is just a thing of beauty!

We used to fish as a family when I was a girl (I'm still a girl but I mean younger) It was my job to clean the fish. I loved it!

  9. Okay, the cell phone is work related, so we've learned to live with it. I just feel bad for him because he can never get away from work!

The fishing hole is Strawberry but I'm not giving up our secret spot!

And none of us really like to eat fish, But we are going to be keeping some to try. :)

  10. There is so much about nature that is awe inspiring!!!!!! So much God provided for us to enjoy and be humbled by.

Fishing is fun. He should have just thrown his cell phone in the lake....sometimes you just want DISTANCE, where no one can find you.
