Gone Too Soon

Surrounded by her family, and with Gary by her side, our beloved Amy passed away this morning, July 3rd,  at 2:35 AM.
She has fought a hard and valiant fight.  She is much loved and will be missed.
As we sat together in the early morning hours, tears of sorrow soon became tears and laughter as we shared warm, loving and fun memories of Amy.  She has left behind a wonderful legacy of love and service.
This silly little saying came to mind this morning, and I think it truly captures the essence of how Amy lived her life. She embraced life with joy and passion!

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

Love you Amy!  Save a spot for me!!!  (I'll bring the Eclair Cake and the Diet Coke)

  14. Some things in life seem so hard. TIME is the only healing balm I think. It is good to think of the fun memories and wonderful experiences together.
I liked that last saying about how to approach/and leave this life.
God out kicking and totally "spent" in your fervor to enjoy life.
God bless you and her family

  15. So sorry to hear the sad news.
My heart goes out to you and her family and all the folks that knew her and loved her. Her absence will surely leave a hole in many hearts. Even with the knowledge of eternal life....it is so hard to miss those we love and miss hearing their voices. I've read that same saying and hope that when it's my time, that my loved ones will feel the same way and know that I'm preparing a place for them :)
You will be in my prayers.

  19. I just read your blog...and this thought is totally Amy. She lived life in a hurry...because she didn't have much time! I wish we could have kept up with her. But, now I know why we couldn't. Deep down...she must have known. She must have known she needed to live...and live well! And she did! Thanks for this Valerie! You have been a great sister-in-law to Amy. She loved you.
