A few things I said I would never do, and then did anyway!
1. I will Never get my hair cut at SuperCuts again.
I've said this more than once.
But this time I really mean it!
Pretty sure I look like this:
Alright, I might be exaggerating, but only slightly.
My hair is not quite that short.
But the bangs...yeah, pretty much look like that.
And it's longer on one side than the other.
And the back is kinda messed up.
I paid good money to have my hair cut.
I could have just let Shane cut it for free!
I knew as soon as I heard "whack-whack" instead of "snip-snip" that I was in
T-R-O-U-B-L-E!
No more SuperCuts! I mean it this time!
2. I will Never wear Crocs.
I'm sorry.
I have had foot problems for years.
I have swelling in the bottom of my foot, which feels like I am walking on a large marble.
I have a really hard time finding shoes that feel good on my foot.
I wear flip-flops almost all the time. Closed shoes are usually really painful for me to wear.
When Rick and I went to Disneyland for 5 minutes last Spring (I'm working on getting over it, okay?)
Emily convinced me to try wearing Crocs. She had recently bought a pair for work & thought they were super comfortable.
I was mortified to even think about putting those ugly things on my feet!!!
Uh...they are really comfortable. Ugly~ yes, but comfortable!
Embarrassingly, I wear them All. The. Time.
I wear black ones though...so they aren't as ugly, right?
Right?
I'm sorry.
Here's partly why I have foot problems. I have both my mom & my grandma to thank for this!
3. I will Never put a picture of my ugly foot on my blog.
No explanation needed.
(I'm actually really self-conscious about my feet~ so we'll call this Free Therapy!)
Rick & I are headed out with the 2 boys on a little Vacay.
Here's what I plan on doing:
I probably won't get through all of them.
But then again, maybe I will!
We have so much in common.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your reading time!
You crack me up!
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your vacation, and when you get back, your bangs will have grown out :)
Did you ever say, "I will NEVER move again?" We do need to be careful.
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading "The Help". It's a fun book! Hope you have a great, relaxing time on your vacay.
You do know that the difference between a bad haircut and a good one is about 2 weeks.
We must have had the same gal cut our hair. Because mine has not been the same since I decided to have a "trim" for summer. It has been a month and well it still looks bad.
ReplyDeleteCroc's... well I have not given in yet. Like you I have some foot problems. Shoes are a real pain to shop for these days.
The books: Loved The Help, the others are on my good reads book list.
Valerie---you're too funny! Thanks for the laugh. I doubt you look like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber. Even thinking of that movie cracks me up! Have fun on your vacation.
ReplyDeletep.s. I'm pretty sure none of us like our feet!:)
You are hilarious!! I was just laughing all through this post. I have learned to never say never because it usually comes back and bites me in the butt!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time on your trip - Read The Help first - the movie comes out on the 10th!!
Oh Valerie! I love that you can laugh at yourself! Sorry about the bad haircut...we've all been there.
ReplyDeleteI *loved* The Help, so I recommend reading that one first! Hope you have a wonderful vacation!
Too bad about your hair cut! :0(
ReplyDeleteI just purchased The Help and am excited by all your comments to read it. I think I will start it tonight!
I liked The Dickens Inn series from Anita Stansfield. It is about post traumatic syndrome ... but it is a good series. I think it was book 4 I didn't care for too much, but book 5 was my favorite of the series.
Have a great vacation and happy reading.
I agree about strip mall hair places. I never do it. I will pay three times as much to go to a real salon. So worth it to me. Sorry about that one. :(
ReplyDeleteI have bad feet too and have to be careful about my shoes.
Have fun with the reading! I can't wait to go and see The Help on Wednesday night!
Lol! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWant to hear the big one I said NEVER to? I dated a guy who told me we were gonna have 7 kids. I told him he was CRAZY and the only way that was happening is if he had them. I moved on because he was not a great fit for me. Married my sweetie and guess what. After 4 children, the planned amount we were having so much fun that we kept going.
My Mother used to tell me not to say never. It's amazing how our perspectives change. Good old paradigm shifts. :o)
Now if I can get my boys to sort these clothes without someone losing an eye. Lol
I haven't and won't wear Crocs. They are comfortable? Plastic doesn't seem comofortable to me, but I've never tried it. Just hate the look for me. And I'm short so I wear heels all the time anyway.
